YOUTH SWIM LESSONS
2 8-week sessions Session 1: 9/5 – 10/27 Session 2: 10/31 – 12/23
Please note what level of class is being taught and what level would be best for your child at the beginning of the sessions.
o We suggest you sign-up early! A minimum of 3 is required to run the class.
o We ask parents to please stay in the lobby or hall bleacher area during lessons; our instructors are trained and certified. Trust us to guide your child into the aquatic environment by teaching safety, swimming skills and fun.
o All lessons are for 1 class per week. You may sign up for and pay for more than 1 class per week.
PRESCHOOL SWIM LESSONS
Ages 3 to 5 years
Swim Basics: Stages 1 – 4
1 Water Acclimation- Increases comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic
self-rescue skills performed with assistance.
2 Water Movement- Encourages forward movement in water and basic self-rescue skills
performed with assistance.
3 Water Stamina- Develops intermediate self-rescue skills performed at longer distances
than in previous stages.
4 Stroke Introduction- Introduces basic stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and
reinforces safety through treading water and elementary backstroke.
Students learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning two benchmark skills: 1.) Swim, float, swim – sequencing front glide, roll, back float, roll, front glide, and exit. 2.) Jump, push, turn, grab
Students will also start to learn the basic stroke techniques of front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and treading water.
Tuesday 6:30-7:00 pm or Thursday 6:30-7:00 pm or Saturday 9:00-9:30 am
