Dear Members and Friends,
For over 138 years the YMCA has been in the business of building future leaders, citizens and parents for a stronger community. What is the reason for our success? The Johnstown YMCA operates on principles that all people are worthy of respect with emphasis on core values shared by people from all walks of life; responsibility, honesty, caring and respect. The personal growth of an individual in mind, body and spirit has a long-run effect on the strength of any community. This is the cornerstone of our organization.
We believe in and have been proud to serve the Johnstown community. We offer quality, affordable programs and services designed to benefit all people. Along with program fees, contributions from individuals, businesses and the United Way of the Laurel Highlands we offer a diverse range of programs that inspire young people to lead, bring families closer together, and encourage individual health and well-being. We rely on contributions and volunteerism to ensure that those unable to pay fees may receive scholarship assistance. At the Johnstown YMCA, no one is turned away due to the inability to pay.
Indeed, the Y's commitment to kids, families and communities extends YMCA programming well beyond the swimming pool and the gymnasium, and into the very life of the community at large. Taking care of children, offering support for senior citizens and providing services for every stage of life, solidifies the YMCA as a critical community resource.
We invite you to see how you and your family can enhance your life, connect with your community and become healthier in the process. The YMCA offers something for everyone! We invite you to learn more about and participate in our programs, explore opportunities for volunteerism, and experience the caring spirit of our organization.
